Getting Ready Wedding Photos at Chicago’s Hotel Lincoln

Jess, the bride, got ready for the wedding day at Hotel Lincoln in Lincoln Park. The corner rooms give a beautiful view over the lake. I’d recommend Hotel Lincoln for getting ready if your group is yourself plus one or two others. You don’t want more than 6 people in these rooms as they’e quite small. If you plan to have more than 6 people total in the room, look elsewhere.

Matt, the groom, got ready at his apartment which had lots of natural light and plenty of space for his small group.

Wedding Ceremony Photos at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo Honeycomb on the Nature Boardwalk

Jess and Matt had their wedding ceremony at The Lincoln Park Zoo’s Honeycomb on the nature boardwalk in Lincoln Park, Chicago. The honeycomb is a gorgeous setting on a sunny day because it provides some shade for your guests. The view is incredible and in early May the leaves were just arriving on the trees!

You can rent out the honeycomb in Lincoln Park Zoo for events. A security guard was onsite the entire time because people like to take photos there. The security guard will make sure tourists stay clear of your ceremony or keep the space clear so you can take photos. In early May, you’re rolling the dice on weather but it paid off for Matt & Jess and we had a beautiful 70 degree day!

Wedding Portraits around the Lincoln Park Zoo in May

In early May the green is just appearing on the trees, so we primarily used the honeycomb for portraits. Another great view of the skyline in Lincoln Park is right outside the patio at Cafe Brauer. I love this spot because the entire south pond is in view, as well as the Chicago skyline.

Wedding Reception at Blue Door Kitchen & Garden

From Lincoln Park we rode the trolley down the street to Blue Door Kitchen & Garden for the wedding reception. Their food is delicious, the speeches were sweet, and the live band was incredible.
