This gorgeous Chicago Cultural Center Summer wedding was modern, classy, and showed guests an incredible time. Photography by Ian Rempel — reach out here to see if I have your date available!
The day started with getting ready at the brides parents house in the suburbs. I love the feeling of starting the day somewhere familiar, especially when it’s the place you grew up. I styled Mary Jo’s details with blooms provided by the florist, Garland Flowers. Their invitations by Steracle Press speak for themselves, and set the tone for the style of the wedding day.
For the first look we all headed downtown to Lurie Gardens (make sure you have your permit handy if you’re a big group and will be there for a while, find that here). Love this location for its garden and cityscape backdrop, as well as the backlighting of the sun in the mid-afternoon.
Their ceremony was at St. James Chapel in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. I love the architecture and history here. It’s one of the best Catholic ceremony locations in downtown Chicago.
From there is was back to the Chicago Cultural Center for cocktail hour and reception in the Tiffany Dome. After cocktail hour, guests weren’t simply told where to go for the reception, but were ushered by a live saxophone player… The design was clean and classic with touches of gold and blue and the Indigo Band gave an experiential performance, frequently singing on the dance floor with the guests.
Thanks Emily at Ohana Events for working so hard to pull off this seamless luxury Chicago Cultural Center summer wedding.
